TV Producer & Director
I was raised on an island on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, 40 minutes to the closest movie theater. I'm the child of two English teachers, named after John Wayne's character in the classic film The Searchers and the titular character of Edith Wharton's novel Ethan Frome. Turns out that those ingredients, adding a dash of hyperactive imagination and a sprinkling of sarcasm, grows a storyteller.
When I graduated with a B.S. in Film, I didn't know where to go. I had a dream to work in TV & Film, but no roadmap. I started by begging my way onto film sets, which lead to working on independent movies for insane hours with little pay. Following my wife to New York City, I literally took any job I could find. Eventually, I ended up in television. Then I found my way into producing TV. That led me to directing TV.
And now I'm here.
Looking back, I'm not entirely sure how I got here.
But I'm glad that I did.
Looking ahead, I'm not sure exactly where I'm going.
But I'm sure that I'll enjoy the journey.
